How about country food,
ham and rice and turkey too,
maccaroni and cheese
string beans and potatoes
squash and onions
baked yams and potatoe pie
rubarb pie and cold slaw
collard green and potlicker.
Yum
          Yum  
                    Yum.
This time of year after the canning
is done.  The pressure cooker and
oven is ready for the fruitcake pans.
Us kids, we love licking the fruit cake
bowl and wooden spoon.  I think of
how today it has been reported that
cookie dough is not healthy.  I see a
lot of my class mates and we look good.
We all licked the spoon and bowl, isn't
that the same as the dough we did eat.

Don't forget to slice the apples over
each stacked can of fruitcake and
pour over the cakes the homemade
scuppernong wine.  Let it set for
Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Let us all sit with family and have
A good time.
