Butterflies nuptials.
The Monarchs’ Wedding Flying through blue air two monarch butterflies joined together bright orange veined with black— one winging above the other folded and upside down below. In wild joy they taste each other with their feet: six above and six below higher and still higher on velvety wings silken bodies dotted with white monarchs on their nuptial flight.

Oh, how I love butterflies!! We have a lot of milkweed here by Lake Erie and the Mentor Marsh. The "wooly bears" feed on the milkweed and in turn we get to marvel at scenes you have so beautifully expressed!!!

While most of us just enjoy (or hate) insects like Monarch butterflies, it is fascinating when information is revealed like your poem describing their mating dance. And, only recently, finding their wintering hideaway in Mexico. And, now that we know that they are in serious decline as a species, we have to ensure that they will delight many generations in the future rather than just be videos, pictures and poems of an extinct species.

Just like the Monarchs, this was a beautiful write, and I have observed this in the past. Unfortunately, Monarchs are endangered, and I haven't seen one here in Ohio where I live in several years.
