When you take your eyes off of Jesus and try it your own way; sometimes you need to take a step back - - - watch

Where is the balance?
Or is it only a dream,
Many people know the answer,
But all I do is go the extreme.

The path that leads to heaven,
To spend a day entranced in the house,
Seeking only the face of Jesus,
Nothing wanting nor needing anything else.

Except when it comes to my family,
And my responsibilities of life,
Somehow I've lacked the understanding,
To have the order, a balanced house.

But when it comes to possession,
My pens, cassettes, videos, there is no lack,
As far as self-control, now that's a lesson,
I've not been able to control by myself!

Though yesterday I prayed to the Holy Spirit,
To let Him take command and control my hands,
To get this house in order,
To welcome Jesus in my camp land.

Oh, the day went so lovely,
The Holy Spirit made if feel like a game,
It felt like the Holy Spirit and I were dancing,
As by His Spirit, He Himself directed my hands.

I prayed in the Spirit Of Jesus,
Kenneth Copeland was heard in each room,
the pillows, dishes, the rooms straightened,
Though after 3pm, it still wasn't finished...

Yet this morning, nothing felt but slumber,
My eyes didn't want to wake,
It must have been the pills I had taken,
When I had such a headache.

Because I didn't ask Jesus,
I used medicine instead,
He showed me it's more than I wanted erasing,
The pills are drugs, "warning" whenever you take.

Keep your eyes on Jesus,
He is a friend that's Always near,
Though the pains might assail you,
Prayers are what God longs to hear.

It's easy to think yourself You did it,
But is it really your own plan,
When you surrender your life to Jesus,
He Himself will make the path clear...

How often, indeed how I seem to persist in trying to handle matters on my own without seeking God's guidance. This poem is the first piece of writing that I have looked at this morning - and I haven't even had my drink of tea yet - and it feels like I have opened the spiritual medicine cabinet for the first time in a while. I don't flatter. Fact is, I have neglected to seek God's guidance because I have been so wrapped up in self indulgence.
Thank you for this timely reminder. It has served as a call to get back to prayer.

I loved this, you are so right my friend...like my grandmother always told us the more you stir something that stinks the worse the smell will get and soon become overwhelming, so I agree with both of you just let Jesus take control and not get overwhelmed by our own judgements and actions. Great advice and wisdom.
Blessings,

Amen...in Jesus we can trust...when all troubled just let the jaw hang
and bend the knees and all will fall into place!!
