I know you so very, very well,
you of the blue eyes and silvered tongue
weaving love with a deft pen
words as delusional as a mirage.
I know the games you play
ones of broken hearts and wills.
But me you did not break as you thought,
though you taught your lessons well,
and learn I did that love can wear two faces.
Perhaps that was your purpose
in the grand scheme of then.
But this is now and the games you played
have been tried by others far wiser than thee.
So... I bid you farewell and leave you
to the illusions that keep you safe
while I adorn myself in the glory of truth
and walk through tomorrow’s gate.
