Picking carefully his colors
soft pastels of pinks and lavenders
hues of gentleness pleasing to his mind
daffodil yellows and rose blush
carefully he wields his brush of illusion
creating a woman of gentle tone
all the softness of the morning mist
content with his creation
in the corner he places it
on a pedestal high
where at his will he can gaze
on wisps of veils he sees as her
quickly the colors fade into shadows
washed by the soft flickering candle’s glow
bemused he watches her disappear
and in the corner of his own truth he sees
the vibrancy of her coming through
passionate purples and fiery reds
the midnight blues and stormy grays
bring forth and blend subtly
with the pastels of gentleness
the unique singularity of a total woman
one not to be captured then painted
in only comfort’s cool soft colors
but radiant in all of the colors that she is.
ahhh, this is wonderful reading Marcia Miller -- you blended the oils of speech just right and captured the total woman -- peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael
Didn't know this was a challenge, but think you've met and exceeded it by far - beautiful moods, beautiful shades you've painted on my eyes! A delight to read. Well done.
