The Road Young Lives Take

Sweet youth so tender, life so pure
Hearts blooming with wonder and love
Young precious innocence, youthful dreams and hopes
With God’s help from up above.

Your debut into the realm of the world at large,
Brings many new joys and thrills each day
Such as the cuddly warmth of a special friend
Who fills a void like spring in sunshine’s ray.

Education, school, teachers, bright young minds,
The challenging road to success
The striving, the effort, the study and work
The future standing open toward life’s quest.

Wonderful and troubled are the years of gentle youth
Growing toward responsible maturity
The greatest choices will be yours to make
Merging into the world of worthwhile duty.

Society is full of dangerous paths inviting you to stray
Be aware, self-directed, take life by the hand
To guide you by the decent goals you set
Through ambition and worthwhile goals you understand.

There are leaders and there are followers
Who offer choices every day for you to make
To blindly walk behind or wisely walk in front
To choose what’s best for your own good sake.

If you’re fortunate my innocent young friend,
To wisely follow your hearts own dreams,
You will find a rainbow of success in life
And joys with grace and success that beams

With the light of God and your own notable worthiness.

youth is so impressionable ... those who survive life's travails are those who follow their own vision and voice ...

A nice work that shows the journey of youth and the perils of age...it is so true that one can find success with the Guide of Light that God provides....

A write full of wisdom and encouragement, penned from the heart of a giving and loving woman...this should be read to every teen as they enter their freshman year of high school, so much peer pressure, negative influence...it amazes me from year to year the difficulty that these teens endure because of peer pressure, do I do my thing, or do I follow the others? The choice seems easy for those of us whom survived the teens, but for the teens today...it's a different story, so much more facing them today...great write my dear friend, very uplifting!
Blessings,

For some reasons this poem makes me think of Anna Nicole Smith. She died yesterday. Her whole life was a sad one.

Everyone was born innocent...until the society and the circumstances changes them. Anna Nicole Smith has not got a chance in life. She was destined to be ruined.

Jeanette,

Very wise my friend. I think we'd better clean the world up a bit before we send our youth into it or there won't be one out there to send them into.
