It’s Your Choice

We awake every glorious new morn
7 days a week, 365 days a year
Some of us are eager to start a busy day
Some are apathetic with a sad absence of cheer.

Yet, we all have the ability to choose
How we plan to feel about the day ahead
We can decide to have a lovely day
Or moan and groan and stay in bed.

The first thought that comes to mind
When our bare feet touch the floor
Will determine a good day or bad one
Either pleasing and productive or misery by the score.

Make choices at night when you lie down to sleep
Consider what you hope to accomplish tomorrow
Then when you wake with planned purpose of mind
You’ll not cause yourself unnecessary sorrow.

Guide your thoughts with positive care
Plan your day carefully, much as we teach our youth,
Nurture positive goals and concepts in all you seek
Filled with hope, faith, honesty and truth.

An encouraging piece, Jeanette. I find my morning mood is that much better if I wake separately from my hubby. I know that sounds mean, but he's not a morning person. He has a way of crushing morning refreshment with his grouchy grubbles. It's great to have an agenda, too. It does make me feel excited about the day. I enjoyed this poem; it's good advice:)

Beautiful inspirational teaching Jeanette. Before you publish this piece, change verse three, line two to read:
"When our bare feet touch the floor."
Just thought you might want to know my friend. Very well done.
