Time Goes By
I’ve counted the days forever it seems
Days, months, and years come and go so fast
As if I’m marking checkmarks on a calendar
Of the days and years of my life
To watch it all fly past.
I recall my early years so clearly
Days filled with surprises and thrills
Each moment so meaningful and exciting
As I partook of a whole new world
The joyful pleasures from simple frills.
Time passed more slowly then
Perhaps because each moment was wrapped up
In something fresh and new
With no thought of yesterdays or tomorrows
While life of today continued to accrue.
Now, I wish I could slow down the clock
Extend all the beautiful sunlit days like a growing tree
And revisit them as if they were reality restored
With the simple pleasures of living
As if I had eternal life awaiting me.

We all found humor in it then. But life is so precious to me now that such a statement is almost sacrilege.
"Time Goes By" is an accurate sharing of a life's viewpoint that many do not yet know. Wonderful imagery.
We walk to the same beat, my dear Jeanette. But, of course, with faith in Evermore, you do have eternal life awaiting you. I look forward to continuing our long AD friendship at Heaven's door.
With love and respect,
