I love the smell of autumn air. The crispness, the leaves covering the ground giving off their humetress. Excellent. Liz

Joyce, so many wonderful memories this writing did bring to my mind...I could smell the different foods cooking and could almost taste them. I enjoyed the great rememberances and images I imagined as I read this. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful piece.

YOu must share these Country traditions!
And, Lady "J" Thank you for doing so!
I enjoyed my views and memories with my Grand ma!
-- The smell of harvest fills the air
corncribs waiting to be filled
potatoes with sleeping eyes
lurk beneath the rich sod
where roaming deer now silently trod.-- What a WONDERFUL touch!
Let us All appreciate our BLESSINGS!
Wonderfully Kentucky-felt through your words and heart Lady "J"!
Much love and Warmer hugs, Warrior Lady Purple Sheeeox

STay Positive!
P.S. Apple picking and Apple pie/Coblers/Jams/Muffins baking... Mmmm...The aroma :) must add cinnam.

I wish it could had been mine.
Thanks, for taking me inside something real and tangible.
But the turkeys are nervous, why?

Oh Joyce, you make me yearn for the beauty it encompasses. I know how good the food tastes when coming from a hard worked garden season. Nothing like it. Makes all the hard work so worth while. A most precious, vivid write that I for one will cherish. Hmmmmm, the sounds and smells of REAL home cooking, there is nothing to compare....

Be safe,
Karen

MMm, I'm hungry. I loved the vinegary taste that was left on the green beans my mother canned/bottled. They always lasted all winter. Those and tomatoes are still favorites. Bounty. We all are lucky as that word reminds us. Cheers

Joyce - This is a love poem;. You write of your love for so many things in your world. From the first few lines, your readers know that you love living, faming, family, growing crops, canning veggies, smelling the whole thing as it brews on your mind, your stove, your shelves, and in the hearts of those around you. I feel as if I have just visited the bestest farm in the mountain of Kain-tucky! Is dinner ready?... that's at noon... but if I'm late, I'll be there for supper, fer certain! - Bill

Fall, a wonderful season
here on the farm

You've painted a marvelous Fall picture, Joyce. And you've made me very hungry, reminding me of all the delectable goodies my grandmother would can and preserve for the long winter ahead.
