Synchronicity

They sat, legs touching, on a wooden pier
of a crystal clear Wisconsin lake
that muggy August afternoon

They dangled their feet in the cool water
watching the perch, sunfish and an
occasional school of minnows
cavort beneath the surface...

And in the tradition of Yeats
as the day slowly turned to sepia
                            ...they talked of poetry

One could say that down there they had another world at their feet.
August afternoons are the ones of transition, like the August month of man's age, just before the snow come and the school of minnows thoughts are encase by winter.

Watching the day turn to sepia transforms this scene into an old photograph. Something one make keep as a souvenir of a given place and time or as a reminder of inspiration.

There are points in life where all the beauty, efforts and dreams seem to converge. This poem makes me think of such moments.

Very inspiring.

Grazie per questo regalo.

This is such a nice view of poetry in thought, two glancing from a point of view and the reality of life...

Nadia ...

I am glad that I found this poem. I had a clear vision of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer while reading, and also the wonder of the imagery you created wove itself into that little boy in me that refuses to die. Beautifully written.

Light and Wisdom ...

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
