Enjoying the mystical solitude of the ocean.

                Seashore Symphony.......

The blanket of darkness cycles once more,
wind howling, sand shifting at its core.
The moon is peaking through a shroud,
mellow, sun kissed light all around.

Bits of moonlight meet ocean water,
ripples catch it gently, do not falter.
Shiny bits of moonlight ride the waves,
 rolling, jumping, skipping by caves.

A wondrous magical sight I say,
the moonlight and ocean safely at play.
 Dolphins, starfish, minnows and more,
join in to play this symphony by the shore.

The tide coming in gently brushes the sand,
in time it stops, retreats from the land.
Scorpions, sand creatures scamper in moonlight,
no fear of sea gulls tucked in for the night.

The darkness is leaving, morning soon to arrive,
the evening ballet must end if all is to survive.
Dolphins, starfish, minnows once again scatter,
darkness will return so what does it matter.

A beautiful poem, Karen. What I find most remarkable about it is the absence of Man. Take care of you.

You have painted a beautiful picture of magic motion.
I especially like "Shiny bits of moonlight ride the waves."
You must love the ocean in all its phases; you make the reader love it, too.
