A flightful fancy dreaming of days gone by.......while doing some repairs to my little village and trains.

Poem Artwork

                         Little village.........

               There is a little village,
               nestled snugly in a bubble.
No window grates or door locks,
                never any sign of trouble.

          Majestic mountains face the east,
a tranquil lake sits to the west,
In between are tall pine trees,
                all looking their very best.

                  A double decker village,
complete with homes, parks and shops.
                    If you look real close,
you will see, birds in those tree tops.

A magical place of dreams gone by,
of a life style that exists no more.
Men tip their hats, ladies give a smile,
children play endlessly by the lake shore.

               Some standing on a platform,
             with umbrellas, bags and canes.
No need, they are in a very safe place,
Always sunny, it never, ever, rains.

A tiny train equipped with smoke,
is traveling click clack, click clack.
It goes up and down and all around,
but always, it keeps coming back.

                  This placid little village,
              rests on a table comfortably.
Reminding me of a time and place,
                   Savored in my memory.

You do a fine job of creating word pictures to go along with the supporting photography.

How wonderful that this lives so unchanged and unending in your memory... but also in the table-top model (??!) that you have loving made and cared for in its honour. Such powerful description it feels as if we walk its contours with you. Thank you for sharing, and the idyllic picture, too. Kate xx

Makes me truly wish that these idyllic places still really existed in our mad modern world today.
