Haiku 5-7-5

Frozen expressions,
Silk robes swishing past willows,
Geishas with red lips.

Sweet orchids blossom,
Butterflies and hummingbirds,
Drinking nectar sing.

Rain fills mountain lakes,
Bamboo and steam spring from stream,
Fog creeps in forest.

Amoungst floating logs,
Lilly pads harbour loud frogs,
Current moves slowly.

Tea ceremony,
Students bow respectfully,
To Shaolin masters.

Tokyo's horizon,
Electric neon fountains,
Sky scrapper mountains.

Bullet trains racing
Technology embracing,
Suits and ties pacing.

Karoke bars,
Rush hour in Toyota cars,
Sardine machines glide.

Trendy young couples,
Sporting bubble wrap trousers,
Robot dance in clubs.

Sushi and noodles,
Warm a hard working stomach,
Land of rising sun.

I have never been to Japan, but these are some of the images it brings to my mind.

Perfect Ku. The visuals are much how I see Japan too.
The 3rd one has a surreal feel to it.

AD, land of the rising Anna..

Your Haiku is absolutely beautiful! The images of Japan are striking and I would have thought buy your descriptions that you have seen all of it with your own eyes. I enjoyed reading them!

The stark contrast between what reads as a lush, romantic, garden fete, and then the abrupt, plastic sounds and sights of the concrete wilderness that is Tokyo. Land of the rising nikie(?)
