Too many more,to recall
I grieve in purple shadows

Eileen, nicely writen. We will all hear the music again, its just gonna take I fear way too long! Untill then we will hear lots of "jazz" from lots of mouths as they blame on thing on one person and more on another. Blame isn't gonna change a blasted thing, better to spend that precious time repairing the damage and worry about the other when the vote rolls around. Jazz music is still playing Eileen its just not playing as lively as normal right now. Its playing a sad tune for all those loss.................

The tracks are out there--they escaped New Orleans long ago--to remind us.

Eileen,

As long as there are people to sing the blues, the music will not leave, even though it's been temporarily forced to move to other locations. N'Awlins will hopefully rise again, bigger and better than before. God, I hope so. :)

A wonderful, memory filled song--you and I on the same page today!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)

"it will come back to life one day til then the haunted memories will be misty rainbow reveries until once more we hear it play"... you have reached into my heart and soul and inspired such hope with these words, Eileen. A beautiful tribute that is also filled with an irrepressible resiliance - such is the power of music to birth life in people and into the spiritual environment that surrounds our world. TY and Bless you. Kate xx

Eileen,
It's so hard to believe, that our center of jazz and blues has been ripped away such as it has. The rich history and heritage, all gone, literally in a wave of destruction too enormous to imagine. There are no words to describe what we've truly lost. Yes they can rebuild buildings, but they will never and can never rebuild, reconstruct the magic that the city held.
It's a death within a death.
You managed to dig in the rubble Eileen and give us just one more taste of the 'Big Easy'.

Hey wot bout my fav. Ray Ellington. Is Fats Domino still missing?
My heart goes out to Alabama too. I worked at boeing military in Huntsville..

I still keep pinching myself hoping it was just a nightmare. Nope this is worse than any bad dream.

I hope and pray this time next week. We'll have seen the skills of leadership that one expects from such a powerful nation. Using its best resources for the gentle folk of the Americas south..

Yep, the misty memories of all that New Orleans was will play over and over for all of us. I wonder if the city will be rebuilt or if it will simply become a monument to what once was. That city was all about atmosphere, which will not be possible to recreate. The hurricane washed away all the spirits that remained within the streets and within the walls of the old buildings. Now the haunting sound of an alto sax hangs from the moonbeams no longer hovering in the misty glow of an old street lamp. Change is difficult for most of us and a death the size of New Orleans is a deep scar that will never heal. Great tribute to the town that died with the dawn, on that fateful August morning.
Take care,
Sherry
