I fall upon the sword of wisdom Only to discover that all is random Forced to ponder the possibility That what I know Isn't what I really know It is only a reflection of What I might know If I knew how to know what is
Continuing on with the thesis that No one truly knows anything Except what they think they know I measure with a ruler and realize That I don't know if I measure correctly Because I did not create the ruler Nor did I create the means By which we measure
I must now question what I've learned If all other inventions are really true Since I myself did not invent them In theory I don't know anything that is Original of my own except that which I have been taught from the day I was born Which leaves me feeling most forlorn I don't know what to know or what to scorn
Must I then trust in what went before Is it true there is nothing new under the sun. After all this time am I to believe Solomon
the wisest soul I ever knew taught me that "you know what you know when you need to know it - and there's a lot you'll never know." this poem reminded me of his wisdom and inspires me to honor the truth he lived and that you have echoed here. thank you! Dawn
From my little place within the universe, I would say that we know everything...we just have to listen for the voice. I will also say that no one else knows what you know from your perspective, but they, too, have the ability to know everything...ok now I have confused even myself...I think. LOL

Very interesting, Eileen. It can drive you crazy, like thinking about the universe and who made God. I do believe we have thought that are original to us. Something we've never heard before. The only thing is, is that a bajillion other people have had the same "original" thought.
Okay, now that I am confused, maybe I should take a drink or hit, both of which I do only rarely, just to understand...better to write what some don't understand, therein you will know where you are coming from, but maybe not the direction you are going...? Ed
seems we are both in a pondering mood tonight :) I've had these thoughts too about pretty much everything...the only things that people truly know are what exists in their own reality...unfortunately everyone has a different perception of reality. Great write Eileen :) ~Danielle

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
A scientist/philosopher explores the mysteries of existence in a highly personal quest for answers to life's ultimate questions, forging a bridge between sterile science and spiritual values -- a scholarly work for all who seek wisdom, truth, true fr
Well written, to the point, you don't avoid the tough questions. BRAVA!

I should have been glad I knew it then.
But I'm glad of what I know now
is what I thought didn't know then
that I would now know of what I knew.
