Poem Artwork

The suns rays like a shaft bore
Into my skin with a warmth that
Aroused thoughts of loves thrill
Shadows of tree limbs seemed to
Play with the light as if trying to
Rival what the sun was doing
While the fragrance of  Frangipani
Enhanced my sensory delight

Sing pretty bird seranade my soul
I need pleasure to overcome pain
Sweet trills to give my spirits a lift
My passions are in full bloom
Everything I see is colored in sensuality
Shine stronger sun I can take it
I want to feel your splendid power
Before the shadows surround me

I hope those birds keep singing, and that sun keeps shining for you, Tiger Lily.

Nice wordplay with this one as you lay soaking of the warmth of the sun and awaiting the icy finger probing of old man winder.

You bring the last strong beams of sunshine into the season with this beautiful poem, Eileen. Your images are strong and vivid which made me think of the Bird of Paradise plants that would be showing off their vibrant blooms this time of year in my Southern California gardens. They were a joy to behold. As everything else was resting for the winter, my "Birds" were screaming their beauty throughout my yard.
Take care,
Sherry

Eileen,
You have the gift of imagery, and for many it's something they long to possess.
This is beautifully written with stunning photos for the mind.

Do those of us living in the Northeast a favor, send that stronger shining sun a bit our way, everything that is as beautiful as that flower & this poem here has frozen to death...of course Rufuz loves the cold...Ed

I'm glad flowers are blooming somewhere but around here that will have to wait until next Spring. A splendid poem on the realities of life and how we need a lift to overcome the pain it can bring and which we must endure. I hope the sun warms your soul and leaves no shadows to surround you but brightens your days always.
