I am taking a few moments to let you know how things are going with George. After fourteen days in the ICU, they moved him up to the progressive care unit yesterday. He is awake but very, very weak. When his surgeon sewed him up he inserted a feeding tube so he is being fed now. George is six foot tall and at this point only weighs 112. They don't want anything in his stomache. If he bleeds again they will go back in and remove part of his stomache. Of course we are hoping that won't be necessary. He is breathing on his own and off all life support now so God is giving us small victories all along the way. Thank you for praying and for all the people at the Den that are holding him up before God. I will try to keep you up dated when ever I can get home and to my computer. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I am sure I was meant to see this Eileen, as this is only the second time I've logged in in weeks. But I had not forgotten George and am so thankful for this news. I see from Kate's note below you've been away some. Prayers and thanks for you. I'll be back in a week or so, just taking some time... God's mercy is wide and his love gathers us all in, Dawn

Thank God, Eileen... this IS indeed good news, and when we live so close to the edge it is GREAT that we can take life a step at a time and actually COUNT our blessings as you iterate here. I thanked God for just getting through the night last night as my mother is sick with a similar-sounding ailment... she has been bleeding since Christmas Day... after an exhausting day with her yesterday, she was admitted by ambulance to hospital finally at 0600 this morning... while I slept!! But, as you know, (!!) she IS strong! :)) Will continue to pray that George continues his upward journey into healing and wholeness, and for grace and strength for his whole family... and for you, as you sound to be pretty wobbly yourself... have noticed your absence... hope you're improving.
