Took the pic with a polaroid the gold trim on dragon shows orange, and the waffle weave doesn't show up well It's very beautiful fine china other side of spout is broken
~*~
Chipped china tea pot Dragons mouth is the spout Now missing one side After forty five years
Still a prized gift from The Captain My uncle JB in Merchant Marines Dead over ten years now Missed and never forgotten
Stories he told worth more than gold Gifts from around the globe Precious gems and artifacts I was so fortunate to be his niece
The tea set he gave me as a child Still treasured all this time Now pot holds a sweetheart bamboo Which I'll cherish with tender care To remember him rest of my years
Beautiful tribute to your uncle JB, who is missed and never forgotten. Those little gifts really become dearer with every year. Beautiful write,

Lovely poem, memories warm the soul and bring smiles to your face

Memories. Life would be unbearable if we did not have them. Still, we should not become so staid as to not want to make new memories. I particularly liked this offering from you. I guess I am just a sentimental slob.
This makes me wobble right now... as you can imagine, I am only JUST starting to realise the value and sentiment attached to all the things coming out of my Mother's house - and bringing some of it into mine and learning how to "hallow" it afresh... Sweetheart Bamboo sounds to be just the thing to capture the spirit of your love for this favoured Uncle. Like you have said on one of my poems recently, death actually RELEASES love and esteem in even greater measures sometimes. Beautiful, thank you. Kate xx

I have a little tin teapot that my Dad used when he did the night shift at work..
I still treasure that tangible link to him, knowing his hands left their indelible physical and spiritual imprint upon it !
You awaken fond memories with this nostalgic and poignant pen !
Super picture of an important memento !

Treasures are part of the timeline we cherish forever. It is part of us and memories and love. It is a bonding tribute to living. Your verses are as tender and priceless as this treasured teapot.

Eileen, those treasured items hold the connection to beloved ones - be they far away or gone from us...you illustrate that so well...I'm glad you have this beautiful teapot to hold onto and admire and to remind you of your uncle.
What a sweet and tender tribute to your uncle who was a diamond in your crown of life, Eileen. It is the little treasures that end up meaning the most to us somewhere down the road. A memory is something that cannot ever be replaced by something tangible but something tangible often rekindles the memory. Wonderful poem, girlfriend!
Take care,
Sherry
