Down deep into truth Is hazardous to explore Learning who we truly are
Knowing what we have buried Knowing what we have neglected
Yet... It is the nucleus everything else is grouped around It is the center that yields gold It is the matrix where it all originates It is the hub of activity It is the umbilical cord of life
It takes courage and determination To accept, and be honest with what we find
Getting to the core is crucial Don't fear to tread where knowing is Becoming who we should be is the only real happiness
Poems, and poets, are so cool. Everyone sees them, differently. The encompassing and ambiguous nature of the beast gives a "living" connotation to the words, and concepts. Each verse, line and stanza, are a journey into our accumulated thoughts and opinions, and they act to expand, and challenge the statis quo, the complacency, that deters us from growth. Awesome write, Eileen, this is a perfect example of the poet's lure to examining the self, both mentally and spiritually. Art
A most introspective write, Eileen. We do tend to gloss over those parts of ourselves that we are not comfortable accepting, but by taking a gaze into the mirror of truth we set ourselves free. Truly an excellent write, Eileen, I love this one.

You're thinking like a poet and your soul searching clearly qualifies you as a master. Poets look within and taste what they see then use this ink as fodder for their verse at times and , at others...to embellish upon a rainy day to make it full of nourishing fluids and wonderful power. We color our world and we pen verses caught up in fluff to make it more digestible at times.
