Basking in the glory of sunlight I watch as my body becomes A glowing stream of golden liquid It flows down the sand towards the ocean, but as it gets to the water A wave washes it back up shore and each time it tries to join the ocean it is turned back by another wave
My mind thinks it's a message of rejection My heart says it's just natural ebb and flow My soul tells me to listen to my spirit
In tandem we wallow in each wave to rush in with dreams and then ebb with a Muse who wants to be in retreat mode. It must have something to do with the moon.

Recognition! Maybe time has a place in this, Eileen. The answer will come when it is ready to be received. Maybe there's something you missed or a lesson you didn't fully assimulate that has to be re-visited before you can move forward? This poem speaks to me, that's for certain...

I believe Dawn's evalution is bang on the money !
I see your poem as a longing to return to the Creator or Source, but God the Father is saying differently, that your time on earth is still incomplete, and your mission is still unaccomplished in full yet !

Sometimes we have to wait for the answer. Keep the faith and keep praying, the answer's out there...somewhere. An excellent, provocative write, very well done.

Oooh! Freud, where are you, Eileen needs professional advice!!! Naw. I think not, I think Eileen is like the rest of us, there are stages life and levels of each phase of the living spectrum that needs to be addressed. We all address these in our own, unique way. It is called reevaluating. Good poem.
What a vision! And so rich and assimilable in its imagery!
I believe that wisdom is something that must be waited for at times, patiently, and with ears and eyes attuned to so much more than what we are used to gleaning from.
Once we begin to grasp how much the Creator loves us as individuals, despite our imperfections and zeal to be His oracle, we will find the peace and patience to persevere through those long, or short, seasons of longing.
I loved this!
You've grown so much in the last month, it seems!
well penned!!! I cannot tell you how much I GET this, Eileen! I think I've tried to write a poem like this a hundred times. I often feel as if my mute rebel spirit wants me to slip back to where I belong (the sea? the heavens? everywhere? nowhere?) but it's desire is thwarted by some greater force to which I must learn to surrender in grace. "Conundrums" is dancing in my head and its words have coaxed my spirit to say, "Yes!" a true gift this morning. have a day filled with blessing and grace, Dawn
