Poem Artwork

Put the dress on you've been saving
Wear it while you still can
Let the wind make your hair swing
Find yourself a new plan
Time to live the dream you're born to
There's no lies left to hide
Bright horizons still await you
If you don't turn aside
Don't look back to find your measure
Look ahead to what's new
When you want to find a treasure
Learn to use derring-do
Don't let storms delay your sojourn
You cannot avoid some
When your emotions feel the burn
Then your body can hum
You need to let the senses soar
With him or without
The time has come to let it roar
No more sitting it out
The trumpet is sounding make haste
You're no longer a waif
Take heed there is no time to waste
No more playing it safe

Eileen, you sleek, chic, chick, you ...fly, baby, fly! And I pray it's right into the face [arms??] of your heart's desire!

Excellent movement and wisdom, flowing together, from your quill today!

Oh yes ... what a great and timely message.

We should always be true to our visions and goals, irrespectibve of all thos negative opinions around us. If not us, then who would pursue visions and goals for us?

I personally would like to hear ... well done good and faithful servant!

And I'll second Jerry below ... thank God for our emotions and our abilities to connect with one another and develope a sense of community where love and respect is the daily motto.

Bless you and your curiously reaching mind ...

It's hard for some to just let their hair done and be themselves and live for the moment..too many moments are lost that way. Great flow to this piece with a wonderful message!

Like Jerry wrote below...time to act and feel the immortality that will give you wings. I live this pen and it's wisdom laced nourishment for a lost soul. It's advoice, free formed and blessed by your heart. We're all lucky you're with us.

Tellin' it like it is in this classic poetry, Eileen. Not going for the gusto seems to be a heavy chain around most folks necks and it is very hard to removes that chain, especially as the years multiply. But you are absolutely correct in your assumption, go for it, whatever "it" is, because until you do, you'll never have the satisfaction of knowing whether or not you could have made it or not. I realize I didn't spend anytime comments on style and technique, my emotions ruled the day with this one . . . sorry.

... Funny... when suddenly that sense of "panic" and "shortness of time" sounds the gong, or blows the trumpet.. do we ALL feel that almost cinematic surreality where suddenly the "pretense" of life is blown sky-high out of the water and nothing seems important except the perceived realities of living life while we still can... in the all the possible ways that might mean to each of us uniquely?? Sorry to preamble, Eileen, but for me this captures the essence of the "Now or Never" moment that strikes home when the fragility of life squeezes your heart as if with the sudden grip of a vice. This is a beautiful capture you pen here. In the moment of daring, we are, perhaps, forever young and without responsibility or accountability. Lake Tahoe obviously sharpens your 20/20 vision. Hope you're well. LOL Kate xx

Dream as if you will live forever and live life as though you will die tomorrow - a very dear someone said that to me and how right both you and he seem to be. This composition has a wonderful meter to it, I can feel the urgency within it's pace. "The trumpet is sounding make haste"...I sense there may be a bell tolling too one day in the not too distant future. A really lovely piece with a subtle yet strong message, Eileen. Love Panda :)
