One last Lake Tahoe pic

what traveling at 4:00 a. m. can do if you're
not driving and your mind can wander

~*~

I fell through a cloud of happiness

and wound up on a mountain of misery

but I found a waterfall of  wondrous joy

to cascade down into a river of reality

I flowed with the red river until we reached

an emerald eye that stared at me with lust

I was drawn through the eye of passion

and came out in the other side of nightfall

covered in lengthening gray shadows

but soon a blizzard of snow lit my way

to the finest pristine path of promise

My imagination was working full tilt
the closer we got to home the dawn arose
now I see the sky in lucid lavender loveliness
as heavens egg shell, burst forth into a new day

Sounds like a light acid trip I once took, and that is NOT a knock on the poem, I have you know I had mostly great trips. Well, some were . . . I can understand how the mind can start playing around with your psyche when you are bored and slightly drowsy . . . You captured it wonderfully.

Beautiful images that I am sure will grace a canvas of yours very soon, Eileen. I love the majesty of Tahoe and the tranquility of the water. How lucky you are to be able to go there so often. Welcome home.
Take care,
Sherry
