Sometimes the blood can't be seen

Being  bypassed comes in-between

There are mysterious circumstances

Perhaps there were malignant glances

Some instruments don't draw blood

They cause a more hurtful kind of flood

The kind that erupts from deep within

Stays hidden throbs pain under the skin

So not everyone can see the mutilation

That causes the victim much degradation

Humanity has devised many ways to kill

Some of them lead to death of only the will

Some from purveyors with poisonous pens

Others speak vile words in hopes to offend

Most difficult is when loved ones demean

Sometimes the blood can't be seen

This really hits close to home, Eileen. It's so true and so sad.
Excellence here -- as with your other work. Always a pleasure to read.
Hugs and respect,
CJ

Wounded souls is a topic that I have too much experience in. For me it is a strange brew of bitterness and insight that always leads me to the prayer closet.

You are a gifted woman, Eileen, that never hedges in her ability to touch the heart and spirit of her readers.

Your friend ...

Wise words here Eileen. So often we know not what we have done until it's too late. With just the speaking of words we cut one through to the bone without realizing it. Even is we leave, doesn't mean the hurt goes with us.
It simply goes back to the golden rule of time. Until we learn it and follow it, we will continue the lane of pain.

Grand and Wise write Eileen.

Stunning bit of homespun philosophy, M'Lady, and every bit of it absolutely true. As we used to say in the turbulant sixties, "Heavy, man, heavy."

The wounds to dignity and lack of respect are the wounds that are bloodless.

There are many ways to wound or kill; some take the flesh, others the spirit and some are so vicious that they destroy both. It is not alway easy to tell if someone is dying inside, many put on a strong exterior, though they are, still, slowly bleeding out, within. We should always be kind, and mindful of our words, that we not hurt another leaving them in our wake to die a slow and painful death. Wise words, Eileen and a good reminder to us all.
Take care,
Sherry

The pain issued from famiy is hard to swallow. The larger the family the greater the possibilities. There is much to discover with people but the pains they keep hidden are the ones harder to share.

How realistic and true. Mant offend, knowingly or unknowingly. But when it is done on purpose it is evil. Well penned, Victor
