As I walked the wooded path

Past the butterflies and flowers

Thinking of the happy hours

We spent in vivid conversation

My eyes misted with regret

This friendly need no longer met

As we go our separate ways

Through busy disparate days

Funny I still can recall

Warmth and intimate desire

The melding of our minds

The yearning of our hearts

Mine still holding  shades of you

Though memories grow cold

Dwindling  in the dying fire

I wonder what  will be left

Perhaps some undying embers

Yet, if nothing  stokes a spark

Only ashes shall remember

etw

there is such a sweet pain....in this
the feeling oh better to have love and lost than not at all
going through it now...there is a tenderness to it when it is truthful

A lover's lament written so expressfully! I, too, think the last line is a great closing!

Sometimes it's best to just let go, Eileen, and know that God has something even better waiting to happen. Thing is, it won't happen as long as the past is present. Be encouraged...there is bright tomorrow waiting to happen, waiting just for you. :)

God Bless
Love, Lena

So bittersweet, and yet endearing, Eileen. Nothing stirs the heart more than separation from one we love. Well-spoken, well-done.

I look in the mirror and see a chimney sweep- and remember how I got this way.
Very touching as always.
