Caught in the grip
of miscommunication
causing confusion
thoughts in blood
drip past reason
to crimson frustration
Knives of necessity rip
into the dark chambers
of twilight thought
Grey matter creates a
fog of forgetfulness
quintessential questions
demand answers
Regretful reminiscences
can't respond
Layers of misunderstood
minutiae cause callow
carelessness
runs rampant over the
raiment of sorrowful
separation
Pride prevents parity
emotions left twisted
tattered and torn between layers
of dark trivia
pride, the demon resident in the minds of men -- that wills us to be other than we know we should -- parity is thus forbidden to enter when there is a leer, driven by ego -- you make emoting a fine art form with your incredible talents Eileen -- this is magnificent poetry my dear friend -- peace and love to you -- Jon Michael
As sad as the tale is, Eileen, the writing of it
is beautifully controlled. I love the alliteration
in the last stanza. -gene.

Gripping words - like being taken by the arm and made to listen! Some excellent word choices and combinations that conceptualize the emotions you project with on-target precision.
You been in my head or something? This is exactly how I feel as of late - confused. Keep hearing one thing, but they swear they're saying another - well done, Eileen. Particularly like the first stanza.
