Poem Artwork

Like a storm that must have its way...
causing the heavens to burst open in display

Like a lascivious Lion..that licks the lava
from the lips of lightnings lair

Like a vortex... that picks up the wanton
winds in wondrous wickedness

Like a clap of thunder that... parts the nimbus
clouds to deposit its plunder on a soft cirrus cloud

Like a shroud of protection when the rain falls
that surrounds and supports
in sensitive embrace

In all these ways do I compare this enigma
of many faces this transforming mystery
of guile and grace.

(this man I love)

my jealousy should be obvious with this envious reply of, what a lucky man -- "this enigma of many faces this transforming mystery of guile and grace" -- Eileen you've outdone yourself my dear friend -- surely, this is my new favorite E T poem -- peace and love -- Jon Michael

Wonderful alliteration, effective imagery. but the best is that the poem shouts romance with out a conventional (cliched) form.

no wonder you're so popular here.
That second couplet is delightful

A beautiful sustained metaphor here, Eileen, that characterises this man you love so very well. Electrifying images that conjure the conflict between energies of light and dark and I particularly like this couplet:

Like a clap of thunder that... parts the nimbus
clouds to deposit its plunder on a soft cirrus cloud

Richly observed; keenly felt. Wonderful work to read aloud! :)) xx
