A Chapter In MY Life

I tell you of the good times, I cherish all through life,
But never of all the years, I've been a kind devoted wife.

Never of the places I've lived, Through the years of  Military life,
Or the nights I cried worried, As A military wife.

I tell you of the five children, and nine grandkids that we have,
I fill you in on happy moments, but nothing that makes me sad.

I tell you of my wishes, and lead you to my dreams,
But never of this life I lived or the places that I've been.


I don't talk about the sleepless nights, or the teardrops that I've shed,
I never talk about the nightmares, that went rushing through my head.

The Military life had led us good, It gave us a wonderful life,
It made me a stronger person and added a chapter in my life.

We lived in seven different provinces, over the course of time,
And each time we moved broke our hearts, for the friends we left behind.

But now the time has come to rest, the moving is long gone,
We've settled here in Ottawa, for now it is where we belong.

I hope to return to NS., I'll call it home once more,
I'll be surrounded by friends and family , that I do adore.

Our children have all grown, with lives they've made for them,
And now it is our turn to rest, as another chapter of our life begins.
