Sometimes all we have are our memories of a very special person and the times spent together over the years. We never know when our life will end and even though we may feel robbed at times, we have to cherish the fact that no one can steal our memories. They are ours for ever and ever.
Without Our Yesterdays
Without our yesterdays, We'd have no memories, Nothing to take into our future, Nothing of what was meant to be. No reason to smile, No reason to cry, It wouldn't mean so much, No matter how hard we try.
No memories of that friendship, That we've held so dear in our heart, Without our special memories, There couldn't be a start. The words that two have spoken, The fun things that were done, Just wouldn't be the same, If there were only one.
Sadly, the yesterdays have faded, But fond memories, we still have, And even though, one has moved on, We'll smile, though we're sad. But we'll look back on days long gone, As we sit here in our comfy chair, And live back through what can't be wrong, The memories through the years.
Picking through this morning trying to find a gem. I did. You know how special this is to me. I told you it often seemed your words were words I couldn't say or hadn't said. This is a great example. Its getting saved.

Dear sis this a a beautiful write and certainly hits home with me as well as many others I am sure. A lot of our memories aren't great but all the great memories is what keeps us going and smiling. With my fabulous husband,family and special friends I have established some of the best memories of all.
I enjoyed reading this and thinking about memories and what you have written. You are correct that we would not have a future--given what it might be--if we did not have memories. Great write!
You are so right on this one Rose, memories can be made special by the smallest of things, I smile across a dinner plate, a touch when sadness is overwhelming, laughter after getting soaked in a sudden squall, sharing a majestic view...so many things can create perfect memories if shared with someone special. They never dissappear and are always there to recall like a favorite book kept on a nightstand. Great write dear cuz...a definate keeper.
