That Familiar Feeling Again

I close my eyes and rest for a moment,
I can sense that you are near,
I can smell you, I feel your breath,
I have no sense of fear.

For love is all we’ve ever known,
For the roads that we have walked,
And patience have been our teacher,
For all that we were taught.

 I gently turn, to touch you,
But you have gone away,
Awaiting the time I’ll be there,
Beside you throughout each day.

But my heart is filled with happy thoughts,
 The memories that we share,
I only cry to wash away the pain,
With each and every tear.

Each day I will get stronger,
I learn a new way of life,
But deep within my heart and soul,
I will always be your wife.

I’ll still turn for your comfort,
