Time to Spend Time

I sit and drink my tea alone,
As thoughts run through my mind,
Of things we have purchased,
Things we’ve owned through time.

We can’t take ownership of people,
For they just aren’t for sale,
We can love them and accept them,
For this we’ll never fail.

We all need time to turn around,
A time we  can call our own,
There’s just that certain time,
When we need to be alone.

A time to share with others,
Our friends, we’ve set astray,
 To catch up all we’ve missed,
Since we have gone away.

That doesn’t change the way we feel,
It doesn’t mean that we don’t care,
So don’t put thoughts in your head,
Cause to me that isn’t fair.

I love to purchase items,
That I may call my own,
So you go spread yourself awhile,
Please feel free to roam.

We Can’t take ownership of people,
For they’re not for us to buy,
No matter how one wishes,
No matter how one tries.
