Just Take Notice

As I walked the busy hours one day,
I noticed the people one the street.
Some of them looked very stern,
Others would smile when we’d meet.

I’d notice how they’d chose to dress,
And thought of where they work,
You can tell so much about them,
With their clothes and the way they look.

I’d gaze upon their fingers,
Maybe see a diamond or wedding ring.
I’d strain to listen as they pass,
Some in silence and others would sing.

I knew those who stayed up late last night,
And the ones who got just enough rest,
For those were the ones who smiled and sang,
The ones I seemed to like the best.

I noticed others resting there,
Where I knew they spent the night,
And prayed today would be much brighter,
And things for them would turn out right.

I take notice of those around me,
For they are all part of a large family,
We must learn to love and accept them,
As we chose to be accepted lovingly.
