I think it is only right that both men and women be able to spend time with friends, everyone needs that break from each other. Best watch out for those one night stands, for too often they haunt you and what life you've had. Not everyone's love and heart is strong enough to accept it and continue on with forgiveness.
All For A One Night Stand
I opened a book and I read the inside, The words that would make one think again, As I read and thought of the words, My tears fell down just like rain.
They spoke of love so open and true , A love that had somehow gone astray, A young love meant to last forever, Gone , all for one night's play.
How much hurt and pain it had caused, To hide this sorrow done in vain, And so I cried many more tears, That continued to fall like rain.
He said one night out with his friend, Just one night out on the town, He neglected to say who that friend was, As he spent his night out running round.
A young couple, so much in love, And yet touched another's heart, She prayed her love would be strong enough, That they would never have to part.
It wasn't love but merely lust, She offered freely to this man, And caused his wife to shed those tears, All for a one night stand.
Before you give away your heart, To one who doesn't care, Think of the love you've left at home, And think about her tears.
Great write sis, many people make the mistake of one night affairs and regret it tomorrow, but by then it is already too late. Because of it anothers' heart is broken all in the name of lust.
Rose, a one night stand can cause a heartache for years, not for the woman, but for a man who lives with his mistake for years.(or vice versa) I've seen this happen so many times in my life and the action comes back to bite them in the backside. A great write!
I do not condone affairs nor encourage them but my own experiences in life have unfortunately put me on both sides of that fence and I do believe that it is not always as cut and dried as those who have not lived it seem to think so. As someone else wrote this morning if no love is felt at home then maybe the need to be wanted exerts more pull on some then others. To those who find a way to survive I think they should not be judged lest we be judged ourselves, at least without knowing the full story.

This is profound and so true. Many men (pardon me gents) all to often use the wrong head to do their thinking. The head that enjoys pleasure cannot fathom the pain it causes the head on shoulders. Powerful, truthful write!
A very touching write...as well as wise one my friend! This is a poem that every married couple should read and sew the words deep within their heart! A poem well written indeed!

Rose to be honest I can't imagine why anyone, married or unmarried would want a one night stand. It can't be conducive to self esteem or better relationships!

Wow, this hits the nail on the head. If men would read this <or women> before they had a one night stand maybe they would not open that door, let it remained closed. The world isn't always greener on the other side. A one night stand isn't worth it. A moment of pleasure could mean a lifetime of pain for the spouse. Amazing poem Rose,and a eye opener.
