A true friendship when found is a precious gift to receive. We may find it in a soul mate or a relative of some stranger we've met on the street. I believe we know who that person is when we ask ourselves, who is it we would turn to tomorrow if we were in desperate need. Who is it that we know we can depend on to always be there.
The Acceptance
You creep into my heart and soul, Like nothing I've felt before, I felt your touch and saw your smile, Yet I did not close the door.
I held it opened as I welcomed you in, And shared all my dreams with you, The dreams I've hidden far away, Secrets I hope one day would come true .
I found in you a sincere trust, That's found in only a few, A gentle and caring heart, The kindness I've accepted from you.
You're there throughout the day, When I need a listening ear, You always seem to have the right words, That I wait patiently to hear.
A smile you seem to always share, The truth from you I find, As I felt your touch and saw your smile, I knew you had to be kind.
Yet at times I still shy away, It's that something inside of me, A whisper that says I'm still unsure, If I'm accepted by others you see.
Great write that deals with acceptance of others regardless of the warts that we display.

Sometimes friendship comes when least expected and is more valuable and treasured more than any other type of relationships. Lovers can be found on a moments notice, husbands and wifes in this day and age don't always last, children though always loving grow up and move away or get caught up in their own lives...
