When the light has turned grey

As I lay resting on my bed alone,
I watch and wonder, when you’ll be home.
I feel a tear gently dampen my face,
As I feel my heart beat in a race.
I’m upset, and I can’t understand,
Why you’d ask me to get another man.

For far too long you’ve been my life,
I tried so hard to be a loving wife.
I remember when you’d hold me tight,
And kiss me all through the night,
You loved me more then words could say,
Forever more it would be this way .

You always whispered in my ear,
I love you , it’s for you I only care.
Sweetheart look me in the eye,
And see the tears you’ve made me cry,
 I can’t believe the words you say,
You don’t love me, you’ve gone astray.

My life now is empty, dark and dull,
can’t see the light of day,
But soon the dark clouds will open,
And again I will find my way.
Someone will come along you’ll see,
And give love unconditionally.

 No more tears will stray away,
When the light has turned to grey,
For I one day will love for true ,
When I have long forgotten you.
So take your life and walk away,
So I can start my life today.
