How often when our loved ones are away, we feel that aloness in our hearts, we go to bed and wonder where they are, what are they doing and do they think of us too, are they safe and we pray for their safe return. Sometimes a short time can feel like forever. We wish we could just speak to them for a moment, just a goodnight spoken, just one smile to help us to drift into our dream world. Then we see and hear the familiar voice and face that we have been missing. What a relief to know they have returned safe and sound back into our hearts.

Where Are You Tonight

Tonight as I sit here in silence,
Not a word I hear from you,
I vision your wide spread smile,
You share with the chosen few.

I can pray for your safe return home,
From the venture you chose to go,
For I know you have me in your heart,
This is the truth, that I know.

Time will pass and you'll return,
Where I;ll find you with me once more,
Telling me unbelievable stories,
That I have never heard before.

I wondered where you were last night,
What filled your evening for fun,
I was here entertaing company,
That seemed to keep me on the run.

I'm finding it so hard to sleep ,
For I seem to miss you at night,
But I know you held me in your heart,
Just knowing that makes it alright.

I'll await your safe return home,
The excitement that you'll share,
Just know as you were thinking of me,
I was thinking of you too dear.

As I read this poem, my husband is on his way to a pyrotechnic convention, and your words voiced my own sadness. I look forward to his return and being in his arms, sharing all his wonderful stories.

Awesome!

A wee bird whispers a sweet tune from the branch of a high tree. The tune is "I'll be coming home, wait for me, wait for me..." and as the sun breaks over the water the physical reunites with the spiritual.

Hugs to you cuz

Rose, isn't it amazing how we hold our loved ones hearts in our minds regardless where they are. This so reminded me of the many hours I've waited for a call just to hear their voices. Isn't it great to be able to love so much and not expect anything in return? I found this to be written in honesty & sincerity...I feel many will relate to this poem.

Separation is good for awhile so that each can have their own space but it should not be done without telling your loved one of what you will be doing be it a fishing trip, golf outing or card game,
