I Remember When

I remember when we first met,
It was love I felt for you,
I knew it from the beginning,
For it was meant for just a few.

As years went by, we made plans,
To start a life, meant for us,
You treated me like Royalty,
You always made such a fuss.

I remember when, our wedding day came,
You wore a smile and I cried,
I was so afraid dear, it would not last,
But I knew inside you'd never lie.

Each day we watched our children,
As we nourished them with love,
Knowing they were ours for awhile,
This precious gift from above.

I remember when, that was yesterday,
Today they've grown and left home,
As we just grow older together,
In the quietness of our little home.

The children come to visit often,
Bringing our little pride and joys,
We see our past life before us,
In the faces of each grand girl and boy.

I remember when, not so long ago,
For love has travelled with us dear,
We've been through so much in time,
But stayed strong because we care.
