My husband Fred just arrived back safe and sound from his trip to Deals Gap, where he did the run on the Dragons Tale twice to make sure he got his fill. On his way home he did some sight seeing and took pictures to share the beauty that caught his eyes. It is always how precious how these tough bikers have the biggest hearts for natures beauty. This picture has to be one of his favourites and one of mine as I stare at him down by the river.
Down By The River
I watch you down by the river, Relaxed and amazed at the water, Fascinated as it trickles past, Feeling the mist of it’s shower.
A peaceful place for a memory, The beauty and the comfort found, Taking you away in the whisper, As you stoop low to the ground.
A beautiful day, a brushing breeze, All in a world of your own, Pictures to capture the loveliness, To share with loved ones at home.
A tough looking biker in leathers, Unshaven you sit on your throne, Still the beauty of the world amazes you, Must be shared, not kept for you alone.
Toughness don’t destroy the heart, Just adds to the type you’ve become, More caring, more loving, excepting, Of others rights not their wrongs.
I watched you down by the river, That look I have seen it before, You’ll have fond memories to share with us, I can tell as you come through the door.
...the rush and sound of water...smooth away the toughest heart...much like a stone in a river...smooth and polished by the the travel of waters time.

This poem speaks to my heart. It doesn't matter if your loved one is gone for a day, week or eternity - there will always be rejoicing when you meet again.
I'm glad Fred made it home safe and sound and you can delight in his stories and pictures and he in yours while he was gone.
The picture is wonderful. I don't know who doesn't know such a peaceful place.
Rose, letting your love have his freedom and to enjoy nature is one great relationship. My husband & I have always found happiness in the things we do...maybe he doesn't like what I do & I, what he does, but with our freedom it seals our love even more. The poem is just magnificent.
I'm glad you have a wonderful relationship and poem too and that your lives give you a measure of freedom. I love rivers (being a once trout fisherman) but lately can't get to those lovely mountain ones. Saw your bio, what kind of music do you do with that guitar of yours? Can you do some good strumming?
The lure of the open road, free from the day to day shackles of life, with a powerful bike under your legs and the wonder of natures miracles to share when you return...sounds like Eden to me.
Great write Cuz

What a beautiful write for Dad, his toughness is very well disguised with his love for all of us. I saw his delight as he sat us down to watch his slide show. I love you both very much.
Ooooo that is one beautiful photograph, thanks! Your write has captured my heart and I wish I could go there too, it just looks so very peaceful. Fantastic write....

I loved the verse,"Toughness don't destroy the heart." Your husband seems to be a very humble and caring man. I'm glad that you can look into his face and see his emotions. I will wait until I can sit by the river and feel the mist of its shower. Thanks for another wonderful experience.
Best wishes
