Our son recently got engaged to one of the finest lady’s that walks on this earth. I tried to tell them to leave their past experiences far behind them if they plane to have a happy and healthy relationship. You can never compare past heartbreaks on the new found love. It just brings more hurt and misery into your lives. I know after fifteen years of being friends and knowing each other so well there is nothing more to have to learn about each other and I always thought they were a perfect match. I assured them you can marry your best friend for a lifetime relationship, I did thirty-four years ago and with each passing day we just love each other more if that’s possible.

Searching back through my mind,
At a life left long behind,
I leave behind the hurt and fears,
With a the pain of broken heart and tears.

Washed away but never forgotten,
A love fought for, but never hidden,
A thought locked within my heart,
Left behind, to get a new start.



Where has it gone, frightened away,
The pain and hurt of a long lost day,
A heart’s filled today, with a love so true ,
A thought within my heart of you.

A love so true , I can’t ask for more,
It’s you I need, It’s you I adore.
Forever in my life to share,
Because it’s you I know who care.

I’m not deaf nor am I blind,
Whisper gently, show me all the time,
That you will always love me true ,
There’ll always be a me and you.

We’ll let the past stay far behind,
Don’t let it dwell within our minds.
Just a thought within my heart,
Of a love so true , thats what we got.

What a beautiful write, dear Rose. Your love for your son and future daughter-in-law shines brightly in this one. What a great future those two have to took forward to. They found each other and need each other and can go on to a better kind of happiness. Past is never forgotton but better not being brought up. Those two know it and have found true love now and God will bless them.

Going forward after a loss is always difficult. Yet, knowing love and the joy it brings is indeed "... a love so true, that's what we got." If we're truly smart, we'll learn from the past and embrace the future.

This is something that is so precious, I believe should be printed, and framed for the happy couple, so they never forget the love they have for each other, nor the love of the one who wrote these precious and poignant words for their lives ahead.

Well said and sound advice for past is past and cannot be re-written no matter how much we wish we could at times. You and I both know Rose that no matter how bad our past was it shapes us into the person we will be tomorrow. Love does the same, if you can weather the rough times of a marraige than the good times in the future will only increase. Great write dear cuz ... fee
