Upon The Shelf

I found a book upon the shelf,
I blew some dust away,
A book that I was fond of,
And proudly placed on display.

I opened up the book to find,
The words once , that held no lies.
For a moment my mind went blank.
For I felt I was hypnotised.

I read the words that blind my eyes,
For the tears that  formed quickly,
As I remembered back to a time,
The love between both you and me.

A crinkled piece of paper,
Held my heart and soul,
That lay hidden within the pages,
Of a true love gone untold. 

So many years have passed,
Our love grew stronger everyday,
As we proudly share our feelings,
Of our love put on display.

Again I'll neatly place that book,
Upon a shelf for all to see,
I'll leave the words that I once wrote,
And held dear so proudly.
