Sometimes life can feel like a performance, trying to please everyone to the fullest at all time. It isn't always easy. You don't chose to disappoint anyone and you wish you could be at your best all the time but life isn't that way and so we offer what we have the real us in hopes it is pleasing saving our most secretive side for just another side, another day.

A Walk Through Time

As though I face the final curtain,
To perform a brand new life in time,
I walk alone with my head held high,
Remembering that the world is now mine.
Mine to savour to enjoy through the years,
To share with those whom I decide,
The secret side of who I really am,
ME, for those few I will not hide.

I walk through yet the brighter side of life,
I share with you my smiles, my thoughts,
I leave with you my love, my feelings,
Not an act but who I really have become.
I walk with my head held high,
I silently  and secretively begin to cry,
For I am now lost in a time, my time,
I open my eyes and walk through time with you.

How long do we expect our life to be,
Should we fill our every dream or is that greed?
Should we face the final curtain by ourselves,
Should we share the moment with our head held high,
Should we act upon our feelings to succeed.
Maybe we should just take a walk through time,
Counting our many blessings along the way,
Saving our secret side to share another day.

Beautiful poem. But, how sad that we have to get older before we truly understand and reflect on life's meaning and how best of live.

Pondering over thoughts that have crossed before, never certain what the outcome will be. Have faith and trust in yourself, in doing so all questions will be answered, wonderful piece....

Be safe,

Well penned and beautifully thought out. We only have this moment, only one step at a time, so count your many blessings, each one of them is divine.
"Should we fill our every dream or is that greed?"
The answer to that isreally quite simple:
'Turn it over to Him and allow God to decide.'
God has blessed you Rose.

Even as we walk through time we can see the value in those times that were difficult. They probably taught us the most.

We have "Today", each step we take is ours, and numbered, so I feel each day we need to count our Blessings.

As our good childhood idol once said "all the world is a stage and each must play a part..." however this does not mean we can also throw in a little improv now and then to spice things up. Great piece composed here from the heart dear Cuz...

Maybe we should just take a walk through time,
Counting our many blessings along the way,

Something I seem to do more frequently these days, and it truly soothes my soul.
