With The Push Of A Key

I sat all alone in my son's computer room early this morning as I waited to hear the sound of life come over the stairs, not wanting to disturb anyone I kept the light dim and thought of what to write well this is what I came up with.

With The Push Of A Key

I  gently unlocked the door,
With the quiet turn of my key,
Not a sound could be heard,
No one around could I see.

Into the room I sat at the desk,
In the dim lit room all alone.
For a moment I thought of the quiet,
As though there were no one at home.

I turned on the computer,
As I slowly began to roam,
With these words I thought,
I may just write a new poem.

With the push of a key it came,
One word at a time to form each line,
I thought for a moment as they came,
The words flowed from within my mind.

Alone in the quiet, all by myself,
As These words I soon set free,
The words that have been locked away,
The words I type so carefree.

What a joy it is the release the fingers onto the pecking key board. Love your ending:

"The words that have been locked away,
The words I type so carefree."

Peck away you words are flowing free.

Nice work, Rose, that's what we do, write, write and write some more, no matter what time of day.

Cheers,
Dan

Sis isn't it wonderful and yet magically how the words flow from our minds and down to our fingertips allowing the ink to flow upon the paper. It gives us such a proud feeling to realize...hey I did that.

Love you sis

The ability to transform keystrokes into the flowing narrative we know as poetry is a gift indeed and you captured so well how easily this gift can be reaeased when the muse is willing and our hearts are true. Great write Rose.

Rose--boy do I envy your ability. I have to drag every word kicking and screaming from their safe haven before they can be bound forever to the paper. Of course, that thought alone makes them hide even more.
Nice lesson--one I need to learn.

This poem has the flow of "The Night Before Christmas". Or at least this is what I heard from the rhythm and flow of your words. You are an amazing poet to have the ability to sit, type, and then to have the words come out 'just right.'

God bless you. Kathy

That's how I type: one word at a time! LOL Sometimes they take their sweet time, sometimes they come in a flood...gotta love the fickle Muse who inspires! An excellent write, Rose, well done. :)
