Woke up this morning to find the ground all covered in a blanket of white, although people don't like to see it too soon, I have to admit it made me smile and feel yes life is worth living as we accept another beautiful picture that the good Lord has chosen to share with us.This one named The First Fall Of Snow.

Poem Artwork

The First Fall Of Snow

I open my curtains to take a view,
Of what God had in store today,
The beauty He shared was a sight to see,
He gave us snow but only for today.

Just like a picture He’s painted,
So perfect and so crystal clear,
As that of the first Christmas morn,
With delight that’s  filled the air.

He’s shared with us the first fall of snow,
To fill our hearts and soul with great joy,
Look for those smiles oh so wide,
On the face of each girl and boy.

We stop and we think now,
Of what we celebrate with great joy,
We bow our heads and we see Him,
Our Savior our Lord, Mary’s baby boy.

Christmas time is drawing close,
We play and watch out for the danger,
Look forward to the festivities ahead,
We think of this child laying in a manger.

The first fall of snow, oh what a delight,
The beauty that stills our heart,
What more could we ask for then this view,
To give us our good morning start.

The first snow is always exciting. There is a purity and sense of newness that can never be matched in any other season. Lucky you to already have snow. We get so little here in Albuquerque. When it does fall, it's melted by noon - well, most of the time.

God bless you. Kathy

The first snowfall always brings back vivid memories of my childhood in northern Alberta. No matter how much it was an omen of the harsh and long winter to come, I was always delighted to see the blanket of white. One year, the first snowfall came on September 6. My father took a photo of me holding the date from a calendar. Thanks for sharing, Rose. Love and best wishes,

Regis

So beautiful indeed. I love the way snow reflects the light and it can be bright as day in the middle of the night. Being afraid of the dark, it is only during these few moments (rare around here) that I will walk for hours in the middle of the night without fear.

Lovely write.

This is so very beautiful. The first snowfall reminds me each year of a renewal, an enrichment, a gift that only God can bestow...

Be safe,

Beautiful write, and so lovely to see snow for the first time this year! We in Texas don't see snow all that much; it's a rare thing! I miss it!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Supposed to get cold, cold here, no snow, but we may have a chance of wintery type precipitaion over the weekend. I hope....84 yesterday for the high, today in the fifties, with a very strong north wind. BRRRRRR!!!!

Although dear Cuz you know my views on religion, this poem speaks to me in the beauty and purity that snow seems to bring with it, all seems to be erased and forgiven or at least temporarily hidden beneath that blanket of white. You captured the poets and the children's love for snow that can warm a soul when the temperatures drop...lovely

How brilliant, we had sleet at the weekend.

Very well written Rose. I enjoy each new day to see what God had in store for us. But I really love waking up in the morning to God's gift of clean, white, freshly fallen snow.

To fill our hearts and soul with great joy,
Look for those smiles oh so wide,
On the face of each girl and boy.
God bless.
