Another Day

Another day older, I don’t think so,
Just another day better, you see,
It’s another day to celebrate life,
And all that’s been given to me.

Another day to smile, and to enjoy,
All the treasures that’s come my way,
As I celebrate another yet one more year
Of all  that’s in another day.

I can still breathe and enjoy life,
I still get to play the guitar and write,
Still open my eyes to the love I surround,
Tell me what about this isn’t right.

The children came for a family breakfast,
With the grandkids in tow with their smile,
All sharing their love once again,
That will last for a long, long while.

The phone it is ringing, what’s that I hear,
Voices of Deb, Marge and dear Cousin Fee,
Serenading with the Happy Birthday Song,
As they sing it today just for me.

Just fifty-three a great age to be,
For you’re only as old as you choose,
As long as you continue to live life and love,
You know you’ve got nothing to lose.
