Things Change With Time

As we age so does our emotions, I don't think we love less, we just love in a different way. I like to think love gets stronger with age. I think we look at those we are attracted to with deeper thoughts.

Things Change With Time

I felt it deep within your voice,
The different way you speak to me,
I’m not the one that I once was,
You now look at me differently.

As time goes by, things do change,
It’s ok though I can understand,
For I will always be the same me,
And you’ll still be that man.

Life goes in a continuous circle,
And we’ll follow it all the way,
Us always loving one another,
The memories of our every day.

If we could make a wish upon a star,
And make that dream come true ,
I’d settle just to have you near,
To snuggle the whole night through.

Deep inside I know you are there,
Feeling the same as you always did,
Accepting me for always being me,
Sharing all the love you’ve got to give.

Time does have its own way,
Of changing what we think should be,
I’ve notice the different way you speak,
I feel you see me differently.

Yes, Rose, love grows old, but with age it ripens...no fun pickin' a hard, tough sour fruit now, is it? Wisdom sets in to the ripe ones, and the one you hold dear, you find their flesh isn't the tastiest part, afterall, it's their juices! its their nutrition that feeds our soul...
then, when we become too ripe, we make pie Together!
You roll the dough, and I'll wait for it to rise! LOL! Ugh oh...Im on a roll! No pun intended!
HA!
Love and Peace~

What I feel in this is that the love has deepened and the way he looks at you is through eyes of man who can't quite believe his good fortune. That's how I look at Steve.

God bless you. Kathy

So many truths spoken. With time all things change yet they stay the same, but love can only grow, beautiful...

Be safe,

Rose, you are speaking in truthful tones...age does change many of our young feverish ways, but I look at it this way, if we're still together and he's still holding me tight...our love is connected and everything's alright. I thought this was great...it is a keeper.

Wonderful poem, and how true. Things change all the time and if people are still together in the relationship then it changed for the better.

This is the way love should be Rose, I'm so glad you have it and that you share the beauty of it with us in your poetry.

Yes sometimes things do change in relationships but sometimes they change for the better, lust becomes love, passion becomes warmth, knowing becomes understanding and irrelevant becomes relavent when two people can share thoughts, fear, dreams and happiness. so you see Dear Cuz sometimes though it is often hard to see changes can be special.

I like to think love gets stronger with age

So do I, and I think it truly does when we have the right partner.

Rose,

Love matures as we age...a deeper, richer kind of love. This is beautiful, well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
