No one really knows what is tucked inside someone’s heart. It is like a storage box asecret place that no one can break into, no one can really see the love, the thoughts.

My Heart Is Like a Storage Box

My heart is like a storage box,
It holds all the things so dear,
Every thought I seem to carry,
Every time I shed a tear.

My heart is like a storage box,
It holds so many tools,
the ones I need for mending,
Each time I break the rules.

My heart is like a storage box,
For all it has to store away,
My feelings and my thoughts,
All the things from my yesterday.

My heart is a big storage box,
For it holds inside your heart,
Which was meant to belong to me,
Never meant to ever part.

Though many tears I know I’ll cry,
Many smiles I’ll share with you,
The Love I hold in my heart,
Is known by just a few.

I often wonder and think what is the correlation between the heart organ and love itself. The heart is the very thing that gives us life and sustains it on a day to day basis...and so too does love. We need love...love of family, love of spouses, love of children, friends and yea the physical things around us that bring us our comfort and entertainment but...we also need to have that place to store the things that we love but no one else can know and your write captures this.
hugs and hope there is a scrap with my name on it stored in that storage cuz,
hugs

Rose--your second stanza holds so much impact. Never have I looked at it like this before. While the rest of the poem is lovely and sweet, that stanza alone is empowering. For all we hold in our hearts, good and bad, happy and sad, I guess I always left my tools out in the storm. We never know how our words may touch people. Yours just gave me incredible strength.

Thank you and WOW.
