Sometimes we are afraid to face our fears and we stress ourselves out even more because we feel we know what is just around the corner and maybe we don't want to see what is there, maybe it is just another person, a relative who lives just the same way. In fear.
Just around the corner
I haven’t taken time lately, To really look to see, What’s around the corner, The things that’s meant to be. I often close my eyes, Because it hurts me so, To watch around the corner, Everywhere that I go. I hate to be in the dark, I despise an opened door, I hate when someone frightens me and I seem to fear much more. I hate the feel of loneliness, The thought that no one cares, What’s just around the corner, Is mostly what I fear. Some folks say it’s time, For me to grow up and stand tall, But when I try to face my fears, I slip back into stress and fall. I don’t like to be a bother, So I keep it all inside myself, Trying to put on a brave face, Not asking for any kind of help. I know that there are others, Who hide behind their smile, Those who think they have to be strong, For their friends & family for a while, But take a look around the corner Tell me truly what you see, It’s like looking in a mirror, Just another frightened me.
Well sis, this is a fabulous write and I must say it certainly comes from within. I understand how it relates to us and our fears. Believe me we all have some form of fear/phobia. You know mine and I know yours sis. Great write sis.
I can relate to your poem,, I am such a worrier,, always worried that all are safe. I will not or can not change, that is in me. Now that I think about this, it brings back words of my Grandma ,, how her 8 kids were all different,, she used to say,, "what is in them,,,is in them" It makes sense. Gosh,,you are lucky you have a big cuddly bear,,he sounds like a gem.
Love, Christine
A distressing write from you Rose, but I do believe we all have times when we feel this way. The thing is not to let it overtake you, and become a habit. You have to find ways, or someone to help you over this so you won't sink into depressioon,or even worse despair.I'm praying for you...
I think almost everyone has those fears and we hide it. We are all alike in that way fear of the unknown. But we are not alone in those type of fears that is for sure. A true write that will touch everyone, as we all have this common ground. :)
I'm right there with you when it comes to fearing the unknown and for often being guilty of keeping my feelings of fear locked inside, so as not to burden others. I think we've all been there a time or two. Stay strong and remember your heart is true; nothing else matters. With a true and strong heart, we can move mountains.
All the best,
Jill

Fear not little one, for I am there to protect you and keep you from any and all harm.
Remember that just around that corner is a 6'4", 240 lbs bear that would go thru anything to protect and keep you from any harm. Also remember that inside each of us, regardless of how we look on the outside, a little fear resides. Except for me, of course!!!!!!
Love You
(((HUGS))), love and prayer - I know all about fear, Rose, trust me - you aren't alone. Powerfully penned sadness - no way to be, is it? And yet, we can't seem to help it - well done.
Be only afraid the time when you look in the mirror and nobody is there, remember? "If You Look in the Mirror.."
Otherwise, there are many friendly shoulders around you.
Each of us in this world have our own fears, some won't admit to theirs and keep them safely, or so they think, locked away. I believe it is wiser to like you accept the fears and try and deal with them to the best of our abilities. You do have a lot of people who care and love you and that will always be there for you...

My goodness, Rose. You and I are so much alike.
And its okay to be frightened.
And the only time you fall is when there is so much on your shoulders you can't stand.

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
The songs and art in this book are about our collective emergence after the pandemic and trauma of the last few years - comprised of 5 collections: World as Refuge, Where We Live, In Our Hands, Rhythms of Change and What We See & Sow.
God bless you. Kathy
I love you,
