A Soldier Of The Sea

I watched him as he walked away,
Another month out at sea,
As tears stroll down my cheeks,
Trying not to show that side of me.

Although I knew he loved it,
For this was his chosen life,
I accepted that years ago,
When I became his wife.

He reminded me of a soldier,
A mighty warrior of the sea,
A man that stands so proud and tall.
For all the world to see.

I long for his return,
To the land our family and home,
My mighty soldier of the sea,
Until again he longs to roam

He walks with a gentle sway,
A give away for sure,
That this soldier of the sea,
Don't hold a job ashore.
