Hubby took out the bike today, thought it should see a little daylight after the many months of being locked away in the garage. I'm not too sure if it will make a quick change in what surrounds him but I guess it made him happy. The picture was taken yesterday afternoon.
It’s Time For A Change
I took out the bike today,
Wanted it to see daylight,
It’s been hiding in the garage so long,
That doesn’t seem to be right.
How I long to feel the road,
The wind blowin freely in my face.
As we gather along the highway,
For the feel of the metal we can taste.
Surely it’s time for a change,
I’m tired of the cold and the snow,
I thought by now the flowers we’d see,
Every yard, every turn we would go.
But no we have to wear mitts,
Scarves on our face a hat on our head,
I’m so fed up with the dirty old snow,
I’d just as soon stay in my cozy bed,
Hope that I’ll wake in the morning,
To find that it’s all gone,
I know I’d only be dreamin,
Would that be so wrong.
I just think it’s time for a change,
I want to see the snow gone,
So we can get on with our life,
Bikes on the road, where they belong.
Anticiipation...frustration...then one day...beautification. I understand your impatience, but don't rush time...or your life :o)
Enjoyed your poem, and that "WHAT?" expression from your husband...
You need to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico - he could ride his bike 365 days a year. Plus, it would be nice to have you as a neighbor. Our total snow fall this year [here], I'm guessing 1/2 inch. I hope he enjoyed his ride and that the snow will soon be GONE!
God bless you. Kathy

Yeah, you must be aching for summer by now. We don't have quite as bad in PEI, but we're stiil snow/ice covered...to warmer times...Gerard
And those who live in areas where there is never snow! They think it's so lovely and beautiful and soft and crunchy and pure postcardish. They need to shovel a few hours, don't you think?

vrooommm -- vrooommmmm, I know just how you feel. My family and I are heading to Vancouver to enjoy the Easter Holidays....and to escape this weather, I need a breath of Spring to keep me sane. Nice write. Thank you for sharing.
Awwww, your photograph speaks for itself. Wow! Now that IS a bunch of snow, but it sure looks enticing! Your words express the anxiety you feel at wanting to be outdoors humming down the road. Patience, it is coming and soon all you will hear is the brooooom, brooooooom, broooooom.....
I've lived in Florida over 30 years and can only faintly recall the hassles just to get out the door...too many clothes for me! LOL!
What a great shot and your poem bleeds for a warm breeze in your face, once again!

Yes, change is good.. The spring equinox is coming real soon! It's finally warming up here in Connecticut..I love to wake to hear the birds chirping and the woodpeckers pecking...This morning felt like the first day of spring with all nature's creatures greeting me...To spring and new beginnings, and long drives to no where...
Peace, love, and light,

Hey! where are my old days? the ones when I could ride my Harley Sporster, had long hair flowing like a mustang tail and the open road shouted freeeeeeedoooooom! ! ! every inch of every mile...
Bad girl, you make me remember, you should had been staddling on my back then, holding me and the Coors.
Well maybe in August will the sun shine long enough to melt the ten feet of snow you have up there. LOL Good one Rose and nice picture of the old guy and his baby.

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,

Spoken like a true biker. The way gas prices are it would be a welcomed relief. Peace, Love and Blessings, Paul.
