Years of Love & Understanding

Twenty- Seven years ago today,
We made a plan for life,
Through all the ups & downs, ins & outs,
We’d always be husband and wife.

With some help from others,
When we felt that we would stray,
Our love continued to blossom,
Which brought us to this day.

At times we have shared smiles,
Washed pain away with a tear,
Through ups & downs, ins & outs,
Time proved that we still care.

Through years of love together,
And lots of understanding,
Our love continued to blossom,
Our time became more demanding.

The children came one at a time,
Our lives changed day after day,
You soon joined the Military life,
Which continued to take you away.

When you returned back home to us,
You seemed so happy with your life,
And so our love continued to blossom,
As a husband and a wife.

Now twenty-seven years later,
We’re happier than ever before,
We still hold each other close,
Saying “You’re still the one I do adore”.
