Just thinking bout our trip to Nashville and all the things we did, This photo was taken at The Palace where Randy Travis was noticed and our friend Joe was invited to sing on the stage. Take notice that Raelynn is holding Fee on a card in the centre. It was a blast.

Poem Artwork

Nashville’s The Place for Fun

Not so very long ago,
We gathered at the Palace to eat,
We squeezed tightly together,
Then ordered food to eat.
We took along important friends,
that you can plainly see,
Joe, Rebecca, Raelynn,
Rose, Fred and our dear Fee.
It was here Joe first entertained,
Upon the stage he proudly stood.
He played and sang for us,
It sounded pretty good.
We wrote his name upon the wall,
For all the world to see,
That our dear friend Joe,
Entertained for a very small fee.
Now Felix wasn’t hungry,
He sat quietly through the night,
Raelynn just nodded  grinning,
Something didn’t seem right.
Rose tossed a look at Fred,
That said it’s time to go.
Rebecca said I’ll follow,
But I have to take my Joe.
Nashville is the place to go,
When you are out for fun,
It places Country in your soul,
Treats you like you’re number one.

"Now Felix wasn’t hungry,

I see RaeLynn has answered for that.

I am told there is a shadow which dampens the spirit in Nashville and New Orleans. I have never (yet) been to either place. One day I will visit both places, to feel them for myself. I have experienced this same shadow in Las Vegas, almost like the noisy glee contained something hungry.

Rose, I love your poem, especially since it conveys something more than the words. Coolness!!!

OK--for those who don't know, "Something didn’t seem right" refers to the fact that I am deaf. I get by in the hearing world with aids but in noisy situations, I am lost. So, more times than not, I just smile and nod. Though a few times I have agreed to things without knowledge, most times it works out alright. Rose & Fred, you are such dears to take on what is sometimes a bit of a challenge.

I had such a wonderful time. Just reading this brings it all back. Seeing Joe on stage was one of the high points of the trip. And that was just the first day.

Memories were made and lives were entwined. And I made more than one friend. Life doesn't get much better than that.

Thanks, Rose. Love ya.
